This week, join our Kindness Challenge! As we enter the gift-giving season, let's remember the most meaningful gestures cost nothing but mean everything. We challenge all students and staff to offer three key "unwrapped gifts" daily: The Gift of Time (sit with someone alone or check in with a coworker), The Gift of Encouragement (leave a positive note or offer a genuine compliment), and The Gift of Kindness (hold a door or help someone carry materials). Your challenge this week is to choose one person—student or staff—who needs a lift. Let's make generosity the kind we create, not the kind we buy.

For years, Mrs. Kathy has been a steady, caring, and irreplaceable presence in our building and throughout Swain County Schools. Her warm smile, her willingness to help anyone who walked through the door, and her genuine love for our students and staff have shaped the culture of our school in ways that will be felt for many years to come.
Her kindness, and commitment to serving others have made a lasting impact on generations of students and countless colleagues. She has been a source of joy and comfort, and has served as an anchor in our school community. She is a true example of what it means to lead with heart.
