Schools closed for students/10 month staff on Jan 18

Swain County Schools will be closed for all students and 10 month staff on Tuesday, January 18. This will be a No Day and moved to the end of the year. 11 and 12 month employees should consult the following link

No School 1/7/2022

Due to the strong probability of black ice in the morning, and to overcome staffing shortages created by COVID-19, there will be no school for Students Friday, January 7th.

It will be an optional teacher workday for staff. Thank you for your understanding.

Native American Policies & Procedures Public Hearing

Notice of Public Hearing - Board Policy 4060, Native American Policies and Procedures, is being reviewed and updated for the 2022-2023 school year. We solicit the community's input during this review process at Our current policy is linked on our website. There will be a public hearing to discuss this policy on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 5:45 pm at the County Administration Board Room located at 50 Main Street, Bryson City, on the third floor.
